Solomon Therapy offers both. Many clients start in person and transition to telehealth as their schedule requires, or vice versa. All online sessions are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant platform to protect your privacy.

An LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) is a mental health professional trained specifically in relational and systemic approaches to therapy — meaning we look at how relationships, family patterns, and environment shape emotional well-being, in addition to individual mental health. This is different from a psychologist (who typically has a doctoral degree and may focus more on assessment and diagnosis) or a psychiatrist (a medical doctor who can prescribe medication). LMFTs are fully licensed by their state licensing board and are qualified to treat individuals, couples, and families.

Most people can get a sense of fit within the first 1–2 sessions. We also encourage a brief consultation call before your first session so you can ask questions about approach, experience, and specialties before committing. It's normal and encouraged to consult with a couple of therapists before deciding who to work with.
-
This varies widely depending on your goals. Some clients come for a few months to work through a specific issue; others engage in longer-term work. Many people start to notice initial shifts within 3–4 sessions, which is a reasonable point to check in with yourself about how the fit feels.

We recommend calling your insurer beforehand to ask about your out-of-network mental health benefits.

Somatic therapy incorporates the body into the therapeutic process, not just thoughts and conversation. Many emotional and relational patterns like anxiety, trauma responses, and chronic tension, live in the nervous system and show up physically before we're consciously aware of them. Somatic work helps you notice and work with these bodily signals directly, often alongside traditional talk therapy, to create change that feels more complete and lasting.
